
To do Digital Marketing, you don’t have to be an expert.
Do you remember the boom in the 90s where people sold courses on Excel and PowerPoint with the promise that you would get the job of your life?
The same goes for Digital Marketing courses so that you have the business of your life.
Unlike an office suite, Digital Marketing is not an exact science, it is something that is discovered day by day, there is no guru or definitive course to be an expert, the difference is in the hours of flight you have in the exercise.
However, the good news is that in the near future we will handle our marketing by our own, as we will know better than anyone how to talk to our customers and in their language.
What is marketing?
It’s all about Perception, just like that, it’s seeing you the way you want to be seen and having them do what you invite them to do, plain and simple, it’s perception.
I will share three fundamental principles for doing marketing without being an expert.
Who, Where, and Bait
The Who is the person you want to see you. We are approximately 7.9 billion people in the world, and we only need a very small portion of all of them.
Their likes, their dreams, their pains, their age, lifestyle, what they do from the moment they wake up until they go to bed, in other words it’s all about them, their whole life, that’s the avatar tailored to your measure.
The Where is a second filter that locates your target character in the exact coordinates.
Many business owners don’t know where to find their niche, the reason is that they don’t know their audience, they don’t know where to find it, but if you know who they are, then you will know where they are.
From there, take advantage of digital resources such as Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.
Keep in mind the following, people always tend to group by passions.
In a scene from one of my favorite movies, The Secret of Their Eyes, the killer is found because the investigator concludes that if there is one thing that the human being can never change, «even if he changes his name or god, it’s passion,» and passion is the biggest magnet that brings us together in niches.
One of my principles is:
In the niches is the business, but in the Micro Niches is the treasure.
The Bait is the final touch.
When we know who and where our ideal audience is, the next step is to offer them an irresistible bait.
Generally, there are two irresistible points of attention, Passion and Pain.
Talk to him about what he likes or what hurts him, as if you were yourself in him, and inevitably you will have his attention, now the question is: What are you going to offer him?
A high-value product of importance to that target, when your offer exceeds your acceptance criteria, take it to the level of Irresistible, then you will have the perfect trinity.
From now on, you will have to learn how to push buttons, but one thing is fundamental, «don’t look in the wrong drawer,» the aim in digital marketing is not luck, it’s a matter of method.
Now find your Buyer Persona and tell him what he wants to hear.
